Abstract

The aim of the article is to draw attention to a deeper understanding of the lessons of reconstruction and further development of the newly formed Ukrainian People`s Republic and the later Ukrainian SSR based on the results of the First World War and the revolutionary events of 1917 in Russia. In particular, in the context of the formation of the first international relations between Soviet Ukraine and Soviet Russia, the experience of developing socio-economic transformations in the era of war communism, NEP, Soviet industrialization and collectivization. This will make it possible to better understand the essence of strategic developments, modern prospects for ending Putin’s so-called «SMO», in reality a war against independent Ukraine, with the support of the world community. Research methods: historical-comparative and historical-studious, with which the source base represented by archival materials of the Central State Archive of Public Associations of Ukraine, periodicals, specialist publications was processed for the research, along with secondary sources from various articles and researchers’ monographs.
The main results of the study provide the research community with an in-depth new reading of the development and correction of strategies of socio-economic transformations in the first half of the 20th century is shown. It has been proven that the tools of the new market economy, such as the effectiveness of entrepreneurs, farming, and small business during the period of post-war (after World War I) reconstruction of the national economy, scared the Soviet powers-that-be, and the economic science-based ideas of Lenin’s article on cooperation were not listened to. Along with the industrialization and collectivization of agriculture, the administrative actions of supporters of the Stalinist leadership of the USSR, which included the Ukrainian SSR, as well as the movement of industrial innovators in the 1930s led to the “Stalinization” of the economy and the establishment of totalitarianism. This provided grounds for turning to the lessons of NEP, socio-economic measures in the countryside and “Soviet-style industrialization”, and especially for modern Ukraine, for the post-war revival of free Ukrainian Donetsk region.
The research is original and belongs to the author, it is largely based on materials personally found or seen by the author. From a practical point of view, the results have a certain value for civil servants, economists, historians and local historians of Donetsk region. Prospects for further research on the significance of NEP, the movement of innovators and socialist transformations for the reconstruction of Donetsk region are open to future researchers. The almost completely unexplored problems of the trust industry of 1920s Ukraine cannot fail to attract the attention of young historians. It is about the analysis of the implementation of the “provisions on state industrial trusts” of June 29, 1927. The article uses archival materials that were first introduced into scientific circulation.
